Tap into your sense of artistic wonder at the Fort Collins Museum of Art or Colorado State University’s Gregory Allicar University Museum of Art. Deepen your understanding of different cultures at the Global Village Museum of Arts and Cultures, where exhibits feature artifacts from around the world.

Looking for family-friendly indoor activities? Head to the Fort Collins Museum of Discovery. There, kids can get hands-on learning experiences in the Schatz Family Exploration Zone or seek out live animal encounters. With exhibits that highlight science, space, local wildlife, indigenous peoples, the future of our world, and more, the Museum of Discovery will keep the whole family entertained for hours.

Enjoy Some Friendly Competition
Old Town Putt Course

Indulge your competitive spirit with some of Fort Collins’ most entertaining indoor attractions.

Children and adults alike will have fun at Chipper’s Horsetooth Lanes (there are two convenient locations in town). Try for a strike at their bowling lanes, aim for the bullseye while axe throwing, and play arcade games–all under one roof. Over at Fort Fun, you and your loved ones can enjoy laser tag, escape rooms, arcade games and immersive virtual reality video games.

If you’re looking for indoor activities specifically for adults in Fort Collins, head to Old Town Putt to play mini golf or PinBall Jones to enjoy vintage video games in a bar setting. You can also get a workout in at one of the city’s many indoor climbing gyms, like Whetstone Climbing or Ascent Studio, where those who’d rather remain on the ground can hit the ping pong table instead.

Go Brewery Hopping

Fort Collins has an extremely high brewery per capita rate, so it’s no surprise that brewery hopping is one of the best indoor activities for adults this winter.

Start with the big venues like New Belgium or Sweetwater, then head to Odell Brewing Co. and The OBC Wine Project, where beer and wine drinkers can hang out together. Maxline Brewing is a great, low-key option (try Monday night bingo!), while family-run Horse & Dragon Brewing Company offers a wide selection. Prost gives off German beer hall vibes and Stodgy has game nights every Thursday in the winter. Book a brewery tour to learn about your favorite brew and check out upcoming events, including live music, trivia, and open mic night.

Is beer not your drink of choice? There are also plenty of wineries, cideries, and distilleries in town as well. There’s Scrumpy’s with a wide variety of ciders on tap or Locust Cider, which has an entirely gluten-free menu. If wine is your go-to drink, check out local favorite Blanchard Family Wines.

Catch a Live Performance

Concerts-at-the-Armory

Attending a concert or play is always one of the best things to do indoors, and luckily, in Fort Collins, there are plenty of fantastic music venues and theaters to choose from.

At The Lincoln Center, you can see everything from dance shows and musicals to lectures , stand-up comedy and more. There’s no better place to attend a concert than the historic Aggie Theater downtown. Laugh off the winter blues at the Comedy Fort or expand your sense of awe at the OtterBox Digital Dome with a 360-degree screen.

No matter your age, there’s no shortage of indoor activities to enjoy this winter in Fort Collins—these ideas are just the tip of the iceberg! For more seasonal inspiration, click here.
