Midtown Shopping

For decades Midtown Fort Collins has served as a regional magnet for shoppers. It offers a wonderful array of shopping including the newly remodeled Foothills Mall, many nationally recognized stores, and a collection of locally owned shops surrounded by mid-century neighborhoods. Starting south of Prospect Street, the area grew from farmland to a bustling business and residential area in the 1950’s and continued to grow as the city expanded. Whether you’re looking to purchase a new mode of transportation like a state-of-the-art mountain bike, hoping to update your look, or planning a family shopping outing, Midtown serves as a great center point with many options.

Clothing, current fashions, and shoes are abundant in midtown. The Foothills Mall, a 77-acre shopping center remodeled in 2015, includes household names like Macy’s and Victoria’s Secret and now houses Nordstrom Rack and H&M.  The mall and the stores that dot the College Ave. corridor offer a wide variety of women’s and men’s clothing, fashionable and functional shoe wear, and accessories.

Midtown Fort Collins is also easily accessible from Downtown, the surrounding neighborhoods and the city’s largest hotels line College Ave. as well as the Mason Corridor. The MAX bus line cuts directly through Midtown just west of College Ave. with stops at key locations. The corridor is also accessible by bicycle and is connectivity close to CSU’s campus, and both transit centers.

If you are headed to the mountains, Midtown has several outdoor and camping stores as well as places to stock up before hitting the trail. REI and Sierra Trading Post offer outdoor gear options as well as essentials for any outdoor excursion. This portion of Fort Collins is also home to several bicycle, snowboard and ski shops making purchasing or renting a cinch! If you need to stock up on food for the day Whole Foods, King Soopers, Sunflower Market, and Albertson’s are right around the corner.

Dining while out shopping is easy to do. For a quick, reliably good meal stop by Whole Foods tasty deli or one of the well-established regional and national restaurants including Chili’s and Smashburger. Fresh Vietnamese, regional Mexican, authentic French crepes at La Creperie, Indian and Ethiopian restaurants add a bit more adventure to your dining experience. For a foodie adventure, check out the Fox and the Crow for a truly New York City meets Colorado experience. Don’t forget to grab a cocktail or freshly tapped beer at one of Midtown’s breweries or pubs.
