Avenir Museum of Design and Merchandising

    • The Avenir Museum is part of the Department of Design & Merchandising, in the College of Health and Human Services, at Colorado State University. Through exhibitions, courses, and programs, our collection of 20,000 historically and culturally significant artifacts tell global stories of people and their textiles, dress, and interior furnishings- how they are made and what they mean to us all. What began in the early 1950s as a small teaching resource for faculty in the former Department of Home Economics is now a renowned collection housed in an elegant state-of-the-art building open to both campus and community visitors.  Closed for Spring Semester, but visit the Avenir Museum’s virtual exhibit Threads of our Community: A History of the Avenir here:
