There's something special around every corner in Downtown Fort Collins! Thanks to the Downtown Development Authority's Alley Master Plan, the alleys in Downtown Fort Collins are vibrant with art, lights, and installations. Many alleys feature businesses you may not have experienced yet. Use this guide to travel by alley and find a few new favorite spots along the way! If you aren't here in person yet and want a sneak peak, no problem! Check out our alley walkthroughs.
Trimble Court
Trimble Court was one of the first alleys completed and leads to the heart of downtown, Old Town Square. When you walk through Trimble Court, be sure to check out Trimble Court Artisans, an art and craft co-op gallery featuring unique work from over 50 local Colorado artists. You'll be sure to find something for yourself or a loved one!
Tenney Court
Located just off of Mountain Ave., Tenney Court is vibrant with colorful murals. Chris Bates' "Hard to Leave" highlights things that make Fort Collins unique. Armando Silva created "Colores de la Comunidad", a beautiful mural that captures stories of the indigenous peoples that migrated to the Fort Collins area. You'll also find that Tenney Court is a great shortcut to the Civic Center Parking Garage and has entrances to Clothes, Pony, and Dandelion Toys, Snooze and Gilded Goat Brewery's Taproom.
Tenney Court North
Tenney Court North is one of the most colorful alleys and features many different murals as you walk; be sure to keep your eyes peeled! At night, blue lights come on and illuminate your steps, transforming this alley into a wonderful place for an evening walk. Moe's Original BBQ has a large patio that backs up to Tenney Court North Alley!
Montezuma Fuller Alley
If you want to hop off the main drag, Montezuma Fuller is a great way to get from point A to point B. With it's European design, you'll find gorgeous flowers in the summertime, lamp post lighting, murals, and lights laced over the walkway. Just off the alley is Equinox Brewing, a brewery focused on the social aspect of beer with a gorgeous beer garden.
Beardmore/Godinez/Reidhead Alleys
These three alleys connect Mountain Ave with Mason Street and Oak Street Plaza. You'll find one of our favorite hidden gems, the Rio's back patio with a waterfall and it's own bar. There's also an entrance to Walrus Ice Cream, a local ice cream shop that's been in Fort Collins since 1987. There is also plenty of bike parking and an installation that lights up the night where the three alleys converge.
Old Firehouse Alley (West)
The west side of Old Firehouse Alley features pedestrian pavers, a three paneled mural that has been newly painted, and offshoots to bring you easily back to Walnut Street. If you're walking west, the alley leads to a mural of Harper Goff, the Fort Collins resident who inspired Walt Disney to create Mainstreet USA at Disneyland after Fort Collins, painted by Chris Bates. In this alley, you'll find Happy Lucky's Teahouse back patio, complete with a Game of Thrones throne replica and the Forge Publick House, a craft beer bar with rotating taps.
Old Firehouse East/Seckner Alley
Old Firehouse East and Seckner Alley have one of the most interesting art installations, a mural that comes alive at night! A projector across the alley turns the mural into a dynamic piece once dusk hits. The piece was painted by Peeta EAD and brought to life by Alt Ethos. Through these alley's you'll also find Elliot's Martini Bar's back patio and Salt Road Brewing, one of the newest breweries to make it's home in Fort Collins.
West Oak Street
The West Oak Street Alley is Fort Collins' newest renovated alley with lighting and sculptures designating the entrance and exit. You'll find an entrance to Downtown Ace Hardware in the alley, Dandelion and Rust at the north end of the alley, and restaurants including Choice City Deli and Uno Mas at the south end.
Dalzell Alley
Dalzell Alley takes you right up to the north side of CSU's campus! This alley features sculpted lights, quaint seating, and beautiful flowers during the summer months. Use this alley if you're heading to Alley Cat for a coffee or Little Bird Bakeshop for some of the best croissants in Northern Colorado. You can also get to DGT, one of the locals' favorite spots for tacos.
