It's no secret - Fort Collins is a brewery destination. In fact, Fort Collins is responsible for 70% of Colorado's craft beer. And with over 20 craft breweries to choose from, it can be hard to know where to start as you try to experience the brewery scene. Luckily, Bier Touren makes it easy! Bier Touren is a new all inclusive brewery expedition in Fort Collins. Their four-hour tour takes you to three brewery stops on their vintage Swiss Pinzgauer, so you don't have to worry about driving. More than enough drink tickets and a full meal is included in your ticket price. All you have to do is have fun!
We spoke with Daniel Bowser, owner of Bier Touren, to learn more about this new and unique experience!
What do you love about Fort Collins?
It’s not talked about much, but Fort Collins has a great vintage car scene. Almost any drive around town you’ll see cool, unique, classic cars that are kept alive by enthusiasts (and low moisture climate). These classics make our city memorable and original.
What are your top 3 favorite activities to do in Fort Collins?
- Bike to brunch at Rise! A Breakfast Place and Edora Park with our 1 year old son.
- Go to a show at the Mish (the bus ride is half of the fun!).
- Scenic drive, bike ride, or run over the Horsetooth dams.
What "can't miss" activity/restaurant/place would you tell a first-time visitor to go?
Our brewery scene is spectacular! From the biggest to the smallest they all offer such an amazing glimpse into the culture of the town and offer much more than just great beer. Find a way to visit a few!
What makes Bier Touren unique?
In a word - Pinzgauer. We offer guided brewery tours visiting some of Fort Collins best breweries. Our guests ride in our 1973, six-wheeled, safari-style, open-air vehicle called “the Pinzgauer”. It seats twelve, has four boat speakers plus a subwoofer, and turns heads at every stoplight. It is always a blast to make new friends on a tour, enjoy the sights in Old Town, and maybe do some karaoke.
How did Bier Touren get its start?
I’m part of an informal “beer club” that meets once per month. After one of the longer and more involved beer research sessions the discussion turned to things to do when friends are in town from other cities. We wished there were more low-planning, low-effort experiences that curated a great day. I immediately realized this could be my opportunity to have an excuse to purchase and wrench on a fun new vehicle!

We aim to curate an awesome afternoon with visits to our partners - Odell, Maxline, Zwei, and Music City Hot Chicken. We provide transportation and group energy along the way that match the character and originality of Fort Collins.
