As sunsets get earlier and activities start to move inside, it's the time of year to start refining your indoor hobbies. One way to do this while diving deeper into the foodie scene in Fort Collins is to attend a cooking class! With three different businesses to choose from, you're sure to find a menu (or five) that you'd love to learn. And if you need the night off from cooking, we've got an option for that too.

Ginger and Baker Teaching Kitchen

The Ginger and Baker Teaching Kitchen ("TK") was born out of the desire to recreate the dining room experience in a community setting. That means the TK doesn't just feature cooking classes; it also hosts a monthly book club, pie bingo, floral arranging classes, cocktail making classes and maker's markets. It also means you might learn a restaurant secret or two in the TK. If you're a fan of Ginger and Baker already, definitely sign up for the G&B Classic Pot Pie class or the Secret Cafe Brunch. You can also sign up for seasonal classes, plant-based classes, or how to make the perfect steak. The TK also hosts monthly Chef's Tables, where Ginger and Baker chefs make a five-course meal as you get to watch and enjoy their creations.

Check out the Old Town Food Tour!

This isn't your average food tour. The Old Town Food Tour was born when a Fort Collins resident recommended a chain restaurant as a great place to eat in Fort Collins. With a thriving foodie scene and a multitude of local restaurants, Tricia, owner and operator of the Old Town Food Tour, knew there had to be a way to engage the local community and visitors to showcase local restaurants and help people find their new favorite place to eat. The Old Town Food Tour, which lasts 2.5 to 3 hours, features five stops at Downtown Fort Collins establishments. Participants can expect to take a seat at the majority of the stops and eat a variety of dishes prepared by local chefs. Many times, the chef will stop by the table and highlight the dishes that were prepared for the tour. Be sure to come hungry because you'll likely be leaving the tour with to-go boxes!
