Backcountry Deli was founded in 1999 by Peter Boniface and David Pepin. High school buddies from New England, they reconnected after college in Steamboat Springs over their shared passion for backcountry skiing. But it wasn’t long before they worked up an appetite for something they felt the local restaurant scene lacked—delicious, nutritious, hearty, sandwiches that could fuel their daily adventures. And so, the sandwich company was born and expanded to Fort Collins and Denver. Backcountry Deli’s mission is to care as much about the food they prepare as the people who eat it. They achieve this by sourcing natural ingredients, providing exceptional service and investing into their communities and beyond.
