Uncover History with Clay Bonnyman Evans

    • Join Old Firehouse Books this July as we host author Clay Bonnyman Evans, author of BONES OF MY GRANDFATHER: RECLAIMING A LOST HERO OF WWII. Readers interested in World War II, archaeology, and family history won’t want to miss this discussion. The event will take place in our store on Wednesday, July 25th at 6:00pm. BONES OF MY GRANDFATHER tells the story of 1st Lt. Alexander Bonnyman, a Marine killed during WWII on the remote Pacific island of Tarawa who posthumously received the Medal of Honor. In 2015, his grandson, Clay Bonnyman Evans, was part of the effort that located his remains, along with dozens of other missing Marines. Then in 2018, marking the 75th anniversary of the Battle of Tarawa, Evans published a book that told his grandfather’s story. We hope you’ll join us for this event.
