The Basics of Cooking - Cooking Class on the Farm

    • This is a class for beginners.  Want to learn how to put together fabulous meals?  You will learn the basics; knife skills, menu planning, seasoning; selecting good recipes, and how to pull everything together in time for dinner without stress.   

      This is a hands-on cooking class, everyone participates in the cooking and the eating of what you make.  All supplies, recipes, ingredients, and equipment needed for class will be provided.  You just show up with a willingness of learning new skills in the kitchen.  Lessons on cooking with herbs and spices; the secrets of making marinades; and how to cook with wine.  

      Menu:

      • Caprese Salad

      • Grilled Citrus Chicken using the best chicken marinade ever

      • Easy Vegetable Rice Pilaf

      • Wine Poached Pears 

       

      What To Expect: Great cooking is about more than recipes—it's about techniques. In our classes you'll work together with other students in a fun, hands-on environment led by our professional chef instructors.

      • Classes are 2 to 2 1/2 hours, unless otherwise noted above

      • Price is per person

      • You will work with other students in groups of 2-4

      • Hands-on classes are limited to 12 students

      • You will be standing, cooking and working for most of the class

      • Please wear comfortable, closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back

      • You will enjoy a generous taste of every dish

      • Farm Fusion recipes are developed using common cooking and baking ingredients that may or may not be specified in the menu titles, including various fruits and vegetables, nuts, meats, spices, wheat flours, etc. If you have a food allergy, please check with Dawn before attending the class. Adjustments to recipes cannot be made during class.
