Impulse Spring Dance Series: Radical Transformation - A Film at The Lyric

    • Impulse Dance, a studio for adults in Fort Collins, is determined to continue dancing through the pandemic. On June 1st, they premiere their latest dance performance film outdoors at The Lyric. Throughout the pandemic, they adapted to keep their community engaged, and they transformed their approach to traditional stage performances by creating safe outdoor dance films with their dancers. . With stage performances no longer a reliable option, studio owner Nadia Duncan and Artistic Director Amy Smith were determined to give their cherished dance community a physical and emotional outlet.
“We need dance more than ever. Times are tough, and we protect our sanity with movement, art, and joy,” says owner Nadia Duncan. With the help of Artistic Director Amy Smith and cinematographer Andrew Sutcliffe, their performance films feature Impulse dancers who had been taking classes through the pandemic virtually and in-person. Now, Impulse invites you to join them for their biggest performance film series yet which will premiere outside at the Lyric on June 1st.
