Discover the Joy of Drawing Horses

Join Beatrice as you study how to draw horses. A variety of drawing materials are appropriate for this class – but we’ll work monochromatically (one color – usually black or gray). Beatrice will bring charcoal and graphite for use in the class, but you can also bring your own chosen medium. Please bring your own sketchbook or plan to purchase at class.

We will spend time studying equine anatomy using Breyer horse models and anatomical diagrams, and discuss how to plan proportion and composition on the page. Each student will then select a Breyer horse model to use as their drawing reference. We will produce two drawings in class – one a portrait of a horse’s face, and one a drawing of the full body of the horse.

Horses take time and familiarity to draw – come gain some experience!
