Assigned is a faculty and staff show from the Department of Art and Art History, to celebrate women’s History Month.
The show will be curated by Em Van Loan, Adjunct Instructor at CSU teaching ART 120. As a curator, they are particularly excited about work that is absurd or transgressive in content or form.

Assigned references academia in the assignments that faculty hand out, roles that women are typically assigned in a patriarchal culture, as well as the gender assigned at birth i.e. assigned female at birth (AFAB) and assigned male at birth (AMAB).
This exhibition is an meant to generate an open-ended dialog surrounding what means to be assigned the role of “woman” as well as the assignation of other roles in the greater discussion of gender.
