1883 Fort Collins Water Works Open House

    • Discover a cherished piece of Fort Collins' history at the 1883 Water Works. This local landmark was the city's first public works project, constructed along the foothills where the famed Overland Trail once traversed. Spanning 23 acres, the site features four historic buildings, two ditches, a vintage apple orchard, and more.

The standout is the original Gothic Revival style pump house - a stunning example of late 19th century industrial architecture. Municipalities favored this picturesque style for public buildings during that era, though few such structures remain today.

Take a FREE tour and step back in time during the open house season, May through October, on select Saturdays from 10am to 3pm. Immerse yourself in Fort Collins' rich pioneering heritage amidst the beautiful natural surroundings. Visit PoudreLandmarks.org for more information.
