In​ ​a​ ​world​ ​that​ ​sometimes​ ​feels​ ​vast​ ​and​ ​divisive,​ ​music​ ​gives​ ​us​ ​a​ ​shared​ ​language​ ​of experience​ ​and​ ​emotion,​ ​and​ ​can​ ​make​ ​communication​ ​across​ ​cultures​ ​as​ ​easy​ ​as​ ​1,​ ​2,​ ​3,​ ​4. From​ ​October​ ​15​ ​-​ ​22,​ ​Fort​ ​Collins​ ​will​ ​welcome​ ​​OneBeat​,​ ​featuring​ ​25​ ​musicians​ ​from​ ​17 different​ ​countries​ ​who​ ​will​ ​collaborate​ ​with​ ​the​ ​community​ ​through​ ​performances,​ ​interactive installations,​ ​workshops,​ ​demonstrations​ ​and​ ​conversations​ ​designed​ ​to​ ​find​ ​common​ ​ground. OneBeat​ Fort Collins ​events​ ​abound​ ​throughout​ ​the​ ​week,​ ​with​ ​many​ ​centered​ ​within​ ​the​ ​​Downtown​ ​Fort Collins​ ​Creative​ ​District​,​ ​and​ ​Fort​ ​Collins​ ​visitors​ ​and​ ​residents​ ​alike​ ​are​ ​invited​ ​to​ ​participate. Activities​ ​range​ ​from​ ​concerts​ ​and​ ​immersive​ ​sound​ ​explorations​ ​to​ ​a​ ​specially​ ​curated​ ​film series​ ​highlighting​ ​the​ ​power​ ​of​ ​music​ ​to​ ​strengthen​ ​communities.​ ​​The​ ​Music​ ​District​​ ​will​ ​act​ ​as a​ ​host,​ ​home​ ​base​ ​and​ ​workspace​ ​for​ ​OneBeat.​ ​All​ ​OneBeat​ ​Fort​ ​Collins public​ ​events​​ ​are free​ ​or​ ​donation-based,​ ​and​ ​families​ ​are​ ​encouraged​ ​to​ ​attend.
