One of my favorite things about Old Town Fort Collins is that it’s teaming with tasty restaurants and bars on every block, and there’s no better way to unwind from a long day of outdoor recreation (or work) than to join some friends for happy hour in one of the many popular establishments. My idea of a perfect happy hour is typically one that includes food, a wide range of drink specials and of course, unbeatable prices. Check out my seven suggestions of restaurants to have a happy Happy Hour in Old Town Fort Collins.
Happy Hour in Old Town
Jay’s Bistro
On a typical day I am the type of girl who will choose a laid back beer-bar or casual restaurant to spend my evenings out and about but there ARE those times (and they come more often since I discovered Jay’s Bistro) that I like to go out to a nicer restaurant with live jazz playing in the background and a nice glass of wine in hand. Jays Bistro is a great choice for these occasions and I typically like to enjoy their tasty dishes and drinks during their happy hour in Old Town. Deals are offered seven days a week 3:00pm to 6:30pm and all night on Wednesdays. Their happy hour food is served tapas style, some of my favorites being their stuffed dates, house cut fries, and Duck Confit Spring Rolls. Their drink specials include an ever changing menu of wines, beers, cocktails, and martinis. This is the perfect place to get a fancy dinner without breaking the bank and as always, dress code is never a factor in Fort Collins’ casual dining scene.
Enzios Italian Kitchen
Not only am I the biggest Italian food fan in all of Fort Collins (I’m sure of it) but this authentic and beautiful Italian bistro serves up cocktails and dishes that are sure to please your palate at addicting prices. Monday through Friday this happy hour in Old Town serves $5 glasses of wine, handcrafted cocktails, appetizers and pizzas and $3 pints of local craft beer. With their happy hour lasting from 3pm to 6pm, it’s the perfect way to get a cheap meal that doesn’t disappoint my sometimes greedy taste buds. Although a good ol’ glass of wine suits any Italian meal perfectly, I can’t get away from their basil mojito which fills your mouth with the fresh herbiness of basil and mint mixed with just enough sweet.
Social
“Social Hour” is the perfect way to describe this cocktail bar’s always fun Happy Hour in Old Town. Their Social Hour is always changing, but drink and food specials are offered each and every night of the week between 4pm-6pm. The swanky atmosphere of this locally-owned, underground bar makes it one of my favorite places to end a day or start an evening at. They have a highly-knowledgeable bar staff that knows more about drink-making then I could ever learn. They also serve foodie-friendly dishes for happy hour including delicious charcuterie specials on Friday evenings.
The Crown Pub
The crowds flock to the Crown Pub for their awesome happy hour in Old Town, not only because of their excellent deals but also their tasty libations and pub style plates. Inside this casual bar you will find a unique Fort Collins feel, $3 wells, draught beers, and wines along with a wide range of tasty meals. The Crown Pub is my happy hour destination for a laid-back, need-comfort-food type of day. Here I typically enjoy a local craft beer on draught with their Crispy Ravioli which is decadently cheesy, creamy, and topped with just the right amount of fresh portabella mushrooms to say I’ve had my veggies for the day. If you’re looking for something to share, try the Prince Edward Island Mussels, which is one of their most popular dishes. Take advantage of this happy hour as an evening treat Monday-Friday 3:00pm to 6:00pm or as a late night cap off Sunday through Thursday from 10:00pm to close.
Elliot’s Martini Bar
Conveniently located on Linden Street in Old Town Fort Collins, this quaint martini bar is sure to suit even the most acclaimed martini connoisseur without breaking the bank. With one of the most popular happy hours in Old Town, Elliot’s is the perfect place to end an evening out on the town or even a place to have pre-dinner drinks. Join them for happy hour Monday through Friday from 4:30pm to 7:00pm and enjoy their expertly prepared large martini for the price of a small. If you just can’t get enough of this unique environment and their excellently priced martinis, make sure to check them out on Tuesdays when you get happy hour prices all night long.
Jax Fish House
Jax is one of Old Town’s best fish houses and is known for their out-of-this-world fresh oysters and handcrafted cocktails that perfectly compliment their plates. Although they don’t have any all-inclusive prices on their happy hour menu, many of their house cocktails are extremely affordable and I think the tastiest too. Stop by Jax Fish House Tuesday through Sunday from 4-6 for their specials and all night on Mondays. Enjoy not only happy hour prices on their drinks but also on some of their best appetizers (like the hush puppies) and oysters.
