Fort Collins is known for its incredible food and wide range of choices in its dining scene, making the Fort Collins’ Great Plates event the perfect excuse to indulge in some of Downtown Fort Collins’ best restaurants. Great Plates allows the community and visitors alike to celebrate Fort Collins' enthusiasm for food by enjoying excellent dining specials while making generous Food Bank Donations! With 35 eateries dishing up excellent cuisines for $25, it's sure to be a foodie paradise.
Our Friends from Savoring Fort Collins have taken a look at all the deals and they have compiled a list of the top 5 eateries you must visit during Great Plates which runs from March 1 - 14. There's no better authority on food in Fort Collins than Savoring Fort Collins. And, don't forget, Great Plates is similar to a "Restaurant Week" (that actually lasts two weeks), which gives you the chance to try some of the best dining in all of Fort Collins. Plus, the purpose of Great Plates is to raise money for a good cause. So, after you dine and pay your check, consider donating to the Food Bank for Larimer County and support a great cause that provides food to nearly 38,000 people in need each year.
Savoring Fort Collins Great Plates Top 5
Spoons Soups Salads & Sandwiches has the best deal for the family (or even for two). Every year we go to Spoons for Great Plates because it is just an amazing deal. You can enjoy 2 out of the 3 options including two quarts of soup or family salad or four half sandwiches. Our suggestion for the soup is to go on one of your favorite soup days. Personally we usually choose Thursdays for 90 Shilling Green Chili Cheddar. You can visit their full menu for the days at espoons.com.
One we visit every year is Social! This tasty choice includes two select cocktails and a featured cheese and charcuterie board. We always love coming on Fridays for Happy Hour and having a fun little date night and this deal makes it even better. We have to admit, the little red peppers they use are a MUST!
3) The Regional
This is our something new addition this year. We have really enjoyed all of our experiences at The Regional, so why not add them to our Great Plates list! The Regional is serving up a 3 course dinner, including your choice of small plate, choice of large plate and choice of a bakery item. We like this option because you can really create your own dinner and aren’t as limited. If you need a little help, we suggest the smoked chicken wings for the small plates (though the baked Wisconsin cheese curds look pretty good too!), and for the large plate, going with the loch etive steelhead trout won’t let you down.
4) Slyce Pizza
We always love throwing an easy and delicious dinner in the mix each week and Slyce Pizza is the perfect selection, and also makes for amazing leftovers.Their dinner consists of three courses, including: a salad, a pizza to share and a delicious brownie to share. Personally, we love a lot of their fancy pizzas like the mac’n cheese or the fresno peppers, sausage and Kalamata olives. Let’s be honest though, you cannot go wrong with any of their delicious toppings on your pizza!
Don’t forget these tasty three! Kilwins’, Ben & Jerry’s and Walrus Ice Cream all have delicious ice cream deals throughout the 14 days, and if you are like us, than you should just slide all three of these places into your schedule. They make for great dessert options paired with these delicious dinners.
