2013 National Tourism Week Luncheon- Wednesday, May 22, 2013

The first full week of May is annually recognized as National Tourism Week, a tradition first celebrated in 1984. Events are presented in cities, states and travel businesses nationwide to champion the power of travel.

Locally, the Fort Collins Convention and Visitors Bureau will host a luncheon to celebrate the importance fo tourism to our community, region, state and nation. This year we welcome Shawn Hunter. Co-Chairman and CEO of the USA Pro Cycling Challenge, Shawn Hunter is responsible for 

overseeing all aspects of the seven-day professional cycling race - the largest spectator event to ever take 
place in the state of Colorado. 

Hunter joined the USA Pro Challenge with a deep background in sports management and marketing. He has expert knowledge of the professional sports landscape in Colorado having held the position of executive vice president of the Colorado Avalanche and Denver Nuggets.
